Justin Bieber invests in Breaking Boy News

19-year-old pop sensation Justin Bieber has invested $50,000 in Breaking Boy News, a German tabloid newspaper and website specializing in boy news. He thereby becomes the owner of the small European press.

“I’ve been so lucky and blessed and that’s why I believe so much in giving back, and I know my fans will feel the same way when they read Breaking Boy News,” Bieber stated in a press release Monday.

Bieber made his first startup investment in 2009. Since then he has quietly been investing millions in a dozen small companies including Robby Stein’s Yelp-like app Stamped, Spotify, and game-for-good company SoJo Studios.

“I’m not going to invest in something I don’t like; I have to believe in the product,” Bieber says.

That’s apparently the case with Breaking Boys News; the website is gaining ever more popularity among youth worldwide. Justin Bieber thinks that the focus on stories exclusively featuring boys has awakened a strong interest for news and politics in a generation that is often accused of being strapped to their PS3′s.

“Everything that I do I try to have a charitable component. My investment in Breaking Boy News is part of my plan to complete projects related to children’s causes,” Bieber says.

The Canadian crooner has sold over 12 million albums since his 2009 debut and boasts over 36 million Twitter followers, making him the most followed in the world after he recently surpassed Lady Gaga.

The deal is going public today, but rumors had been around for some time after observant fans had spotted a new tattoo on the teenage star’s shoulder.

Justin Bieber urges his fans to do like him, and contribute to the unique newspaper by donating.

“No sum is too small. It’s the idea that we’re creating something together that is important,” Bieber says.

13-year-old boy posted fighting girls on Facebook – got handcuffed and fingerprinted by police

A 13-year-old Mississauga boy charged with mischief and criminal harassment says he feels “badly” for filming two girls fighting and posting the video on his Facebook page.

Ironically, the Grade 8 student, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, said he wanted to be a cop when he grows up.

That all changed Dec. 19 after Peel Regional police received a complaint about the video and handcuffed him at his school. He was later charged with mischief and criminal harassment and was fingerprinted and photographed by police.

A Catholic school board has taken action after learning a young hacker accessed confidential records, including provincial test scores.

John Mackle, education director at the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board, said the Grade 8 pupil at St. Anne’s School in Peterborough’s north end found his way — via his laptop, a piece of downloaded software and the board’s internal network — into a board file server containing provincewide test results.

Mackle said the incident occurred when the server in question, which isn’t located at the school, was turned back on after undergoing a service upgrade.

“We normally have two levels of security,” Mackle said. “In this case, level 1 was turned back on, but level 2 was not. This allowed the boy to gain access.”

The boy was in the system for about 10 minutes, Mackle said.

He can’t discuss the repercussions for the boy, he said, as that would violate the same privacy rules the boy broke.

Joyriding preteen boy, 12, crashed his parents’ car

A 12-year-old boy took his parent’s Plymouth Breeze for a ride in Grand Haven Township Friday afternoon.

Witnesses tell Ottawa County deputies that the boy veered off 144th Avenue several times and barely missed other vehicles before he completely lost control of the car, hitting a phone cable box.

The vehicle flipped, trapping the boy inside. Firefighters had to pull him from the wreckage.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in good condition Friday evening.

Deputies say the child was wearing a seatbelt.

Police have charged a young boy in a sexting investigation.

Toronto Police report a teenaged girl began an online relationship with the boy, and provided him with photos.

The boy then hacked into the girl’s email account, and sent the photos to several of her contacts.

The accused – who cannot be identified because of his age – is charged with making, possessing and distributing child pornography, extortion and threatening death.

Teenage boy molested woman

While Regina Hiebert walked home from work, a teenager on a bicycle asked her for the time and fiddled with his bike for a bit, Cnews reports.

Then he suddenly rushed at her and grabbed her chest.

“He threw his bike down and was grabbing me and begging me to do things to him,” Hiebert said. “He wanted to rape me.”

The mom of three grown-up children said the teen was pulling at her pants and touching himself.

The woman managed to pull out her cellphone and dial 911 with one hand extended behind her back as her attacker groped her.
