A nine-year-old Austrian boy was responsible for starting a fire that destroyed a supermarket, police said Friday following a four-month investigation.
Police gave no details but media reports said that the boy set fire to rolls of toilet paper on the shelves of the store in Dornbirn, western Austria, because he was “bored.”
The blaze in June caused several million euros’ worth of damage, with 100 firefighters having to contend with exploding aerosols and glass shelving shattering.
No one was hurt.
