Late Thursday a jury found D’Marques Jones, 17, of Barberton, guilty of murder and rape.
This was the first jury trial in Summit County Juvenile Court.
Jones was 15 when he raped his three-year-old sister Makayla on Father’s Day weekend in 2011.
Makayla was taken to the hospital after being unable to keep down food and juice. Doctors discovered her colon was perforated and she was septic.
She died a few days after her rape when she was taken off life support.
There is no date set yet for Jones’ sentencing.
