A schoolboy is recovering from serious injuries to his face and torso after he was attacked by a gang of seven boys in Edinburgh.
The 12-year-old was walking in Ferry Road Place on Monday at about 19:00 when he was approached by six or seven youths and assaulted.
The boy managed to make it to a local shop and was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Sgt David Happs, of Lothian and Borders Police, said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a young boy and a terrifying experience for him. Fortunately he was able to flee his attackers and sought assistance at a nearby shop.”
