A 10-year-old West Philadelphia boy has been charged with criminal mischief after stealing a van Sunday and crashing it into five parked cars.
The boy took the keys from the rear door of a white Ford van from which furniture was being unloaded, authorities told WFMZ.
He made it less than a block before hitting five parked cars, coming to a stop at the rear of the fifth vehicle.
There were no injuries in the incident. Residents detained the boy until police arrived, according to the Philadelphia Enquirer. Witnesses to the accident said they were shocked at what had happened.
The boy reportedly has a history with police, but has been too young to arrest.
He has been charged as a juvenile for theft and criminal mischief and was still being held at a detention center as of Monday.
