A Turkish teenager is sentenced to 11 months of prison for insulting Turkish PM Tayyip Erdogan.
The teenager B.K. from Balıkesir province had been sued for insulting Erdogan at Facebook and his trial continued at a Balıkesir Juvenile Court.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s lawyer sent a letter of application which stated that Erdogan cannot attend the trial and drops charges against the teenager.
Teenager’s lawyer demanded the acquittal of his client upon this development, but it was denied by the judge. The judge read the insults openly at the court and said they are too groos in nature and sentenced B.K. for 11 months and 20 days in prison.
