
A 13-year-old boy from Centralia, Washington, has been questioned by police after getting an illegal six-inch tattoo of a dragon on his chest to commemorate his victory over cancer, Mail Online reports.
His mother, who does not want to be identified, said her son got the ink while on a trip with family friends. He later told her that the tattoo symbolized his surviving leukemia as a young boy.
‘He actually thought I was going to be proud of him,’ his mom told the TV station KING5. ‘He considered [the tattoo] his badge of honor, saying that he is a cancer survivor.’
The 13-year-old would not say where he got the tattoo, but police said they know the first name of the person who is responsible for it.
It is a misdemeanor to ink a minor in the State of Washington.
